Hands On Sizing

an extended, valuable lesson and guide on dress sizing

a worthy 4 minutes read

Body measurements is the most valuable info You need to provide us for the dressmakers. As dresses, different to for example T-Shirts, do not have a standarised sizing. While we do have a list of sizes on our product page, please note that our listed „Size 6“ isn't your daily UK6, it's just for reference and it's highly recommended to measure yourself before ordering. A dress must be a perfect fit on your body to look as flawless as you deserve it to be on your special day!

Make sure to take the measurements barefoot in tight clothing or underwear for the correct results.
We need 6 different information for our standard dress collection
· Bust: the fulles part of your bust
· Waist: the slimmest part of your waist
· Hips: the fullest part of your hips and buttocks
· Hollow to floor: center of your collarbone to the floor
· Height: top of your head to the floor
· Shoulder width: distance between your shoulder edges

Knowing your exact bust, waist, and hip measurements is the key to having perfectly-tailored clothes.
1. Bust
Remember, this isn't your bra size. Wear an unpadded bra while measuring as all our dresses have a built in bra. Relax your arms and pull the tape across the fullest part of the bust.
2. Waist
While standing straight, bend over to the front or side, your natural waist is the part where the body creases.Wrap the tape measure around your natural waist. Keep it parallel to the floor. Hold your body in a comfortable standing position to get an accurate measurement. Be sure you don't draw it too tight for breathing space. Do not hold your breath or suck your stomach in.
3. Hips
Stand straight with your feet together and wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. Remember to keep the tape measure parallel to the floor for the correct result.
4. Hollow to floor
Stand with your back straight and your feet together, keep the shoulders relaxed and instruct your friend to hold the tape measure at the top or center of your collarbone and pull straight down to the floor.
5. Height
Stand barefoot with your feet slightly apart, back straight and shoulders relaxed. Instruct your friend to measure from the back of your heels to the top of your head and keep the tape measure straight.
6. Shoulder to shoulder width
Stand with your back straight and shoulders relaxed, instruct your friend to locate your outer edge of the shoulder and measure the distance.
